Competitor Analysis starts from real SERP evidence. Instead of comparing your page with a random list of competitors, ShoSerp analyzes pages that appeared in your tracked snapshots.
This makes the recommendations more useful: they are tied to the pages Google is already showing for your keywords.
How it works
- ShoSerp collects competitor pages from your tracked SERPs.
- The extension crawls those pages in background tabs.
- It extracts SEO signals such as headings, text, terms, metadata, schema, images, and links.
- It compares those pages with your own ranking page when available.
- It groups the findings into keyword, page, and project-level recommendations.
Page analysis
Each analyzed page can be opened for a closer look. The tabs cover:
- Overview - general page quality and comparison signals
- Headings - heading structure and keyword usage
- Terms - topical coverage and suggested terms
- Meta & hreflang - title, description, canonical, robots, language, and hreflang
- Media - images and alt text
- Links - internal, external, and special links
ShoSerp also checks practical signals such as word count, readability, schema, Open Graph, Twitter Card data, and keyword placement.
Recommendations
The recommendation engine flags issues that can affect page quality or search fit, such as:
- Thin content
- Weak or missing H1 structure
- Poor heading hierarchy
- Missing keyword placement
- Low topical coverage
- Missing title, description, canonical, or hreflang hygiene
- Noindex or nofollow problems
- Missing schema or social metadata
- Weak readability
- Weak internal linking
- Missing images or alt text
The goal is to help you decide what to fix first, not to produce a long audit for its own sake.
Workspace views
Competitor Analysis has three main views:
- Keywords - compare pages and recommendations keyword by keyword
- Pages - group your pages and competitor pages by URL and domain
- Recommendations - review project-level issues and action lists
The Pages view is useful for planning because it shows which domains and URLs keep winning across the market, including organic competitors, ad competitors, and AI-source competitors.
Opportunity buckets
ShoSerp also groups keywords into planning buckets:
- Quick wins - keywords where a focused improvement may pay off
- Missing page - keywords that likely need a dedicated page
- Strong page, low rank - the page exists, but ranking strength is weak
- Overkill content - the page may be heavier than the SERP requires
- Other - items that need manual review
Availability. Competitor Analysis is available on Professional. ShoSerp runs one page-analysis job at a time so the browser stays stable while pages are crawled.
